Our Mission & Vision

At First Presbyterian Church of Urbana, we seek to be a spiritual beacon in our community, shining the light of Christ through worship, service, and love.

Our mission is to share the Word of God, nurture faith, and extend Christ’s compassion to all people.
As we grow in faith together, we strive to be a church where all are welcomed, valued, and empowered to serve.

We believe our faith calls us to serve—not just within the church, but throughout Urbana and beyond. We actively partner with local organizations to meet real needs and build a stronger, more caring community.Here are some of the ways we serve:

• Caring Kitchen – supporting food and housing services for those in need  
• Habitat for Humanity – helping build safe, affordable housing  
• Hope4Good – offering holistic support for individuals and families  
• Sycamore House – supporting expectant mothers and family life  
• Urbana Youth Center – investing in the lives of local youth  
• Cub Scouts & Scouts BSA – mentoring the next generation of leaders  
• Elementary School Hygiene Kits – promoting dignity and well-being for students  
• Seasonal Outreach Programs, including:  
  • Adopt-a-Family  
  • School Supplies for Kids  
  • Champaign County Community Christmas  
  • The Giving Tree  

  Our church building is also a community hub, hosting groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and American Red Cross.Together, through worship and service, we live out the love of Christ—locally and globally.
